After my post on Chrome, Google’s Chrome Team shed some light on the release plans for Mac OS X and Linux.

In her blog post, Google Software Engineer Amanda Walker discusses the process of creating Chrome (and Chromium, the open-source project), outlining their focus on producing products for each platform that aren’t simply ports, but fit into the systems and their paradigms.

In short, this is how software development is done best. Passionate developers creating tools that they will use themselves on the platform they most use.

Well done, Google! Others would do well to follow this path.
