Vizioncore's numbers are growing as customers continue to demand virtualization features offered in Vizioncore's set of solutions. And the company is expanding their solution set to include other virtualization platforms beyond VMware. Vizioncore has long been considered one of the virtualization market leaders with its host of third-party solutions. And in a down economy, the company raises its head high and expresses that they have enjoyed continued annual growth during 2008. To validate that statement, the company said that during 2008 they increased their customer base to over 15,000 worldwide, more than doubled the previous year’s headcount to reach 250 employees, and also doubled their global channel partner network to 2,200 during the year. For years, the company’s flagship product has been its virtualization backup solution, vRanger Pro. The company said that this product, along with its vEssentials bundle, has continued to see positive demand in the marketplace. And in 2008, Vizioncore introduced three other products which they believe customers will find attractive and cost-effective: vFoglight, vConverter, and vOptimizer Pro.[ Find out more information about Vizioncore’s vOptimizer Pro product in this exclusive interview with George Pradel, Vizioncore’s director of strategic alliances ] Until now, Vizioncore has really been focused on VMware’s virtualization platform, but as other hypervisor technologies from Microsoft and Citrix continue to evolve, the company is beginning to expand their product support. They’ve already expanded support to other hypervisor platforms with vConverter, and the company recently told InfoWorld that they will be demoing new products that support other virtualization platforms as well during VMworld Europe 2009 in Cannes.According to Grace Krokidas, director of marketing at Vizioncore, the company’s business strategy and success is based on closely following and aligning with customers’ issues as they adopt virtualization.“We make products that reap benefits in terms of enhanced productivity and cost containment for them. In order to make sure that we stay on top of the issues that concern our customers, we do a quarterly survey to pulse their feedback,” she said. The company’s survey is called the Vizioncore Virtualization Review (VVR). And Krokidas added, “This quarter’s upcoming survey gives an intriguing insight into over 650 respondents’ views on the current financial climate and the impact on IT.”Some brief highlights from the survey include:Many respondents said that the economic climate did have a strong effect on their spending. Respondents added that immediate or rapid ROI from their investments in new technologies was a major factor in their decisions on where to spend in 2008. Most considered virtualization technologies as being essential to their IT strategies.“At a time when the world is undergoing economic turbulence, companies are still strongly pursuing virtualization strategies to reduce operational costs and ensure that they have a resilient and flexible infrastructure capable of responding to any demand,” explained Chris Akerberg, Vizioncore’s president and chief operating officer. “We see that customers need reliable real-world solutions that are affordable and deliver significant functionality to get the most out of their virtualized environments. Our strategy for 2009 will be to continue to improve our product set and expand it with new solutions that address the day-to-day concerns of supervising and optimizing virtual environments.” Software Development
