Seven things an SOA team should not say

ZapThink issued a research piece this morning saying that the “best indications of [SOA] progress were what was actually missing from discussions” the analyst firm had with enterprise architecture teams.

Jason Bloomberg, the ZapThink analyst who penned the report, described those missing phrases as “recurring pitfalls that companies face as they navigate the treacherous road to SOA.”

Here is the list:

1 Let’s get our SOA from our preferred vendor

2 Where’s the (insert three-letter acronym here)?

3 We don’t talk to the people in that department

4 You’re full of it

5 You do SOA your way, I’ll do it mine

6 Let’s consider an alternative to SOA

7 SOA is too hard
