Sun debunks Java-Vista clash

Contrary to rumors, Java will work fine with the Windows Vista OS, according to Sun Microsystems. At least newer versions of Java will, anyway.

Looking to debunk what a Sun representative described as “misinformation,” the company is steering people to a blog by Chet Haase, an architect in the Java Client Group at Sun. The blog can be accessed here.

“Hey, I like a rumor as much as anybody (Hey, did you hear that Larry Ellison is acquiring Europe?). But when the rumor is clearly wrong and it involves a project that I’m actually working on, I feel obliged to correct the misinformation,” Haase writes.

“The rumor is not true; we actually work great on Vista,” he said.

Sun is building a version of Java for Vista.
