Product review: Windows Search 4.0

For all its flash, Microsoft’s search tool has always felt a little unfinished.

Until now, that is: Windows Search 4.0 is finally here, and it’s ready to enter the workplace as a well-mannered IT citizen, tester Randall Kennedy explains.

Kennedy continues that Microsoft has managed to address most problems enterprises had with Windows Search and that combined with the fact that it’s a free upgrade, make it a no-brainer.

“Overall, Windows Search 4.0 is a nice improvement over Desktop Search 3.x under XP and the integrated search in Vista and Windows Server 2008.”
