Company names Hideki Komiyama as replacement Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB has selected Hideki Komiyama to succeed Miles Flint as CEO of the Japanese-Swedish joint venture, the company said Tuesday.Komiyama will take over the helm of the mobile phone manufacturer on Nov. 1. He is currently a chairman of the board of Sony Electronics Inc. and executive vice president of electronics marketing and sales strategies at Sony Corp.Flint, who has been with Sony for nearly 17 years, has served as CEO of Sony Ericsson since June 2004. He will remain an executive advisor to Komiyama until the end of the year. Under Flint, Sony Ericsson introduced the Walkman music phone and the Cybershot camera phones, which helped the company establish a position in the market for high-end handsets.The company said Flint is leaving to pursue new personal and business opportunities.Sony Ericsson is the world’s fourth-largest maker of mobile phones, after Finland’s Nokia Corp., South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Motorola Inc. of the U.S. Technology Industry
