Otto Berkes is a 25-year technology veteran, inventor and author. His experience includes being one of the founders of Xbox and its first architect; the leader of the team that created and launched the HBO GO streaming service; and developer for the first Windows-based version of AutoCAD. Today, he is the Chief Technology Officer at CA Technologies.
Otto joined CA on June 15, 2015. There, he uses his experience in product development and management, specifically in areas of mobile, user interfaces and hardware architectures, to lead CA’s technology strategy.
An advocate of diversity, he is a member of the University of Vermont’s STEM leadership council where he is focused on addressing gender, racial, and economic gaps across all of the STEM disciplines.
Otto earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Middlebury College in Vermont and a master’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering from the University of Vermont. He is co-inventor on and holds multiple patents spanning design, mobile device interaction and core computing technologies, and recently authored Digitally Remastered: Building Software into Your Business DNA.
