JavaWorld celebrates 10th birthday with new redesign Earlier this year, JavaWorld reached a major milestone: its 10th year of serving the Java community with its expert tutorials, marketplace updates, case studies, programming tips and tricks, usable source code, and online developer community. For more than a decade now, we have been providing the tools that Java professionals need to program applications in the real world. And as a birthday present, we’ve given JavaWorld a much-needed makeover! All the JavaWorld gems (all 10 years of them!) that you’ve come to rely on are still here, but just packaged in a fresh, streamlined interface. We hope you enjoy our new look!In addition, we’ve introduced a new taxonomy for organizing our articles. You’ll notice on the left navigational bar four Research Centers: Java Standard Edition, Java Enterprise Edition, Java Micro Edition and Development Tools. The Java SE Research Center includes articles on the JVM, Java Database Connectivity, Swing, and other basic technologies you need to program server and desktop applications. If you’re looking for articles on developing enterprise-class applications, with topics including Enterprise JavaBeans, service-oriented architectures, working with XML, and so on, you’ll find those offerings under the Java EE Research Center. The Java ME Research Center covers programming for devices; and the Development Tools Research Center includes articles on Hibernate, Spring, Ant, and other tools that Java developers use for application development. And of course, you can always use our Google-powered search engine to find articles on the topics you need. I also want to point out that the most important elements of JavaWorld‘s previous top horizontal navigational bar have been moved to the left. Under Site Resources, you’ll find News & Reviews, our Forum, and JavaWorld-specific information. Enjoy the new JavaWorld! We look forward to more decades of serving the Java community!Jennifer Orr is JavaWorld‘s senior editor. Software Development
