Hello, Canonical? Are you listening? I've been trying to draw your attention to some of the deficiencies I've discovered with Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon." However, I'm having a hard getting through, what with all the flaming and other nonsense going on around here. What's that you say? You *are* "listening?" You've even prepared a list of things I highlighted that you're going to fix in Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron?"

Hello, Canonical? Are you listening?

I’ve been trying to draw your attention to some of the deficiencies I’ve discovered with Ubuntu 7.10 “Gutsy Gibbon.” However, I’m having a hard getting through, what with all the flaming and other nonsense going on around here.

What’s that you say? You *are* “listening?” You’ve even prepared a list of things I highlighted that you’re going to fix in Ubuntu 8.04 “Hardy Heron?”

You’re going to fix the multi-monitor madness? Really? You mean I’ll finally be able to configure my desktop for multiple monitors? Reliably? From within Gnome? Cool!

What’s that, again?

Slickboot? What’s Slickboot? You’re going to get rid of all that nasty *nix stuff during boot-up? Sounds promising!

And while you’re at it, can you take a look at some of the pre-fetch research being done by those crazy Google “Summer of Code” campers? You will? Promise? I’m going to hold you to that!

The kicker? You mean, there’s more?

OK, tell me…

Install Ubuntu from Windows? You’re kidding, right? Now wouldn’t that be a slap in the face for the Softies!

Might not make it into the final version? That’s OK. If there’s one thing Ubuntu is good at it’s wiping away those pesky Windows partitions during install. Why, just the other day I used my “Gutsy” CD to nuke a stubborn OEM partition from my…

What’s that? You’ve got to run? OK, stay in touch! And thanks for taking my comments to heart! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy…
